Do I need a Visa to enter Morocco?

  • Please check the requirements of your passport-issuing country


Where can I exchange my currency?

  • The best place to exchange your money is in the currency exchange kiosk in the airports or ask your driver to take you to a place in town where they offer a better exchange rate. ATMs are widely available throughout the country but many have a limit of 2000 MAD (dirham) per day


Are credit cards accepted?

  • Visa and Mastercard logo credit cards are mainly accepted in major cities, cash works best in souks and smaller towns


Is tipping an acceptable practice?

  • Tipping is customary but always optional. Your driver works very hard to ensure your trip is safe and unforgettable and 10% of your trip cost per person is standard. You should also be prepared to tip the tour guides, camel guides, hotel bellhops and restaurant servers in local currency


Can I use my cell phone?

  • It is best to get a sim card when you arrive in country to avoid roaming fees and international calling fees. These can be purchased at airport shops or your driver will direct you to a place in town


Will I need an electric power adapter/converter?

  • Voltage in Morocco is 127v and 220V and use the C/E-type power plugs used in Europe. Please check your devices to learn if you would need a power converter or not


What is the weather like?

  • We recommend layering clothing as the temperature can vary dramatically any time of the year. Expect it to be very hot in the desert in summer. Winds can pick up any time of the year. Mountains will be snowy in winter

  • High season is March-June & September –December, Low season is July/August & January/February


Is traveling in Morocco safe for women and families?

  • Morocco is a very safe and nice place to travel for anyone, solo or in groups of any age. Your driver will ensure your safety every step of the way


Do women have to wear headscarves?

  • No. Morocco is a modern country and it is not expected for tourists to cover your hair. It is respectful, however, to wear clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. You will be more comfortable in looser attire. Please note that non-muslims are not allowed to enter mosques, except at Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca


What kind of luggage should I bring?

  • It is recommended that you have a roller bag as some of the riads may be tucked in the Medina and require a short walk from the car park. A daypack is also a good idea. Your driver will always assist you with your luggage


Are there alternative food choices for vegans or people with food allergies?

  • Yes. Just let us know your preferences and we can accommodate you


Is alcohol available for sale?

  • You can purchase wine, beer and spirits in specialty stores. Only some restaurants will have it available for purchase but you can often bring your own


What souvenirs are available?

  • Morocco is best known for argan oil, rose water and other rose products, spices, carpets, ceramics & pottery, mosaics, leather and metal works. Purchases made through artisan co-operatives may be shipped to your destination
